LUBBOCK – Ten top-10 finishes on Saturday highlighted the final day for Abilene Christian at the Corky / Crofoot Shootout at Texas Tech.

The last day was distance and throwers for the Wildcats with Colt Cooper leading the way with a four-place finish in the men's discus at 52.35. Stone Smith was seventh in the event at 48.83.

Athan Huelskamp was fifth in section A of the men's discus at 17.59 and Sutton Welch was fourth in the B section a 14.41.

Avery Myrick was sixth in the women's discus at 44.14 meters.

On the track, Jacob Russell placed fifth in the 5000 meters in 15:43.26 and Mikhail Fortner was 10^th at 16:46.01. Zach Martin was sixth in the 1500 meters at 4:06.86.

Tessa Holderman was third in the steeplechase at 12:12.15 and Hadley Phillips was seventh in the 5000 meters at 19:47.32 to lead the women's effort on the track.

On Friday, ACU had a pair of second-place finishes in the javelin with Christian Morales second in the men's at 62.15 meters and Avery Myrick second in the women's at 42.71.

The women's 4x400 relay of Shiean Walters, Savannah McCaleb, Ja'Kaylon Sabbath and Ja'Dasia Sims was second at 3:43. 23

In the hammer, Sutton Welch (56.26) and Rylan Smart (54.02) were sixth and eighth, respectively, on the men's field and Myrick was 10^th at 44.58 in the women's.

Riley Pyeatt was third in the women's 800 at 2:11.90

Walters was fourth (54.00) and Sims placed eighth (54.91) in the 400 meters.

Cooper Goggans was fifth in the men's 800 meters in 1:50.97

Miguel Hall was ninth in the 110 meter high hurdles at 14.40

Matthew Mills, Tyce Chaney, Canaan Fairley and Ethan Christian finished the Friday events off in fourth in the men's 4x400 relay at 3:14.90.

ACU returns to action May 9-11 at the WAC Outdoor Championships in Orem, Utah.
