Biography
Before ACU: Shiean comes to ACU after a brilliant All-American career at Angelo State University and will be a major addition to the ACU sprint corps. She was a 6-time NCAA Division 2 All-American and garnered numerous medals in the Lone Star Conference. 2022-2023 (Sr) – indoors, she won the LSC 400 and anchored the winning 4x400 relay, and placed 4th in the 200, before going to the D-2 championships where she finished 2nd in the 400 and on the 4x400 relay. Outdoors, she placed 9th at the D-2 national meet in the 400 and 3rd in the 4x400 relay; at the LSC meet, she placed 5th in the 400 and 6th in the 200. That year, she also placed 4th in the Wes Kittley Invitational 200. 2021-2022 (Jr) – indoors, she palce 4th in the LSC 400 before going to nationals, where she placed 18th in the 400. Outdoors, she placed 3rd the LSC 400, as well as running on both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Then moved to the D-2 national meet, where she ran on the 5th place 4x400 relay. 2020-2021 (So) – indoors, she was 2nd in the LSC 400 and 4x400 relay, before heading to nationals where she picked up her first All-American honors, placing 4th in the 400, 2nd in the 4x400 relay, and 3rd in the 4x100 relay. That same year, she also won the Oliver Jackson Twilight 400 at Elmer Gray Stadium. 2019-2020 (Fr) – running at the LSC indoor championship, she placed 4th in the 400 and ran on the winning 4x400 relay, before the pandemic caused a cancellation of the D-2 national championship and wiped out the entire outdoor season. Her collegiate PR’s – 24.24 in the 200 and 53.25 in the 400.

Before college: Sheian enjoyed a terrific HS career running for Coleman HS. As a HS sophomore, she made it to the state meet, where she placed 5th in the 3A 400. The next year (2018), she returned to state and moved onto the medal podium, getting 3rd in in the 3A 400. She capped off her HS running career by winning the 3A 400 and placing 7th in the 100. In all 4 of her HS seasons, she competed at the Region I-3A meet here at Elmer Gray Stadium.

Personal: Graduated from Coleman HS in 2019, graduating in the Top-10% of her class and as a member of the National Honor Society. In the spring of 2023, Shiean graduated from Angelo State University with her Bachelor of Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude and having been on Dean’s List all 4 years at Angelo. She also received the D2 ADA Academic Achievement for the 2022-2023 school year. Her parents are Mackie and Lavelle Walters. She is currently in the Doctor in Occupational Therapy program at ACU and active in SOTA (Student Organization for Occupational Therapy). She is also active as a volunteer at the Beltway Park Church.
