
Wildcats Receive Six Academic All-District Honors

Six Abilene Christian women's track and field/cross country athletes were recognized for excellence in their sport and in the classroom by being named to the Academic All-District team by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
To qualify for the prestigious honor, an athlete must have accumulated at least a 3.5 GPA and recorded a top 50 regional ranking in a single event.
The six student-athletes represent the maximum amount of honorees ACU could have received.
Chianel Asoburuenwu - Senior, Raleigh, NC
Nele Huth - Sophomore, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Hannah Kasper - Sophomore, Tampa, Fla.
Hadley Phillips - Junior, China Spring, Texas
Natalie Poe - Senior, Lubbock, Texas
Emma Santoro - Sophomore, Rockwall, Texas

Chianel Asoburuenwu - Senior, Raleigh, NC
- 3.75 GPA, health science major
- Recorded the 24th fastest time in the region in the outdoor 100-meter (11.42)
- Also part of the 15th ranked 4x400 relay team (45.20)
Nele Huth - Sophomore, Frankfurt am Main, Germany
- 4.00 GPA, journalism & mass communication major
- In the indoor season, ranked 7th in the pentathlon (3,941 points), 48th in shot put (12.89 meters) and 49th in high jump (1.64 meters)
- In the outdoor season, ranked 40th in the javelin (41.35 meters), and 47th in the high jump (1.65 meters)
Hannah Kasper - Sophomore, Tampa, Fla.
- 4.00 GPA, interior design and architecture major
- Ranked 30th regionally in the outdoor 10,000-meter run (38:14)
Hadley Phillips - Junior, China Spring, Texas
- 3.78 GPA, kinesiology major
- Ran the 45th best time in the outdoor 10,000-meter run (40:34)
Natalie Poe - Senior, Lubbock, Texas
- 3.87 GPA, Bible ministry major
- Ranked in the top 35 in the region in two events in both the indoor and outdoor track seasons
- In the indoor season, ranked 25th in the pentathlon (3,712 points) and 35th in high jump (1.66 meters)
- In the outdoor season, was 17th int he heptathlon (5,177 points) and 28th in the high jump (1.7 meters)
Emma Santoro - Sophomore, Rockwall, Texas
- 3.65 GPA, health science major
- Ranked in the top 50 in three events in the indoor season
- Logged the 30th best time in the 800-meter run (2:11) and 36th in the 400-meter run (0:54.23)
- Also part of the 4x400 relay team which ranked 19th in the region (3:46)
