Indoors – Emma competed in 5 meets highlighted by a 10 th place finish in the TTU Red Raider Invitational in the 800, and at the TTU Stan Scott Invitational placed 4 th in the 600-yard run and 11 th in the 800, with an indoor best time of 2:14.11. Finishing her first collegiate indoor season, she finished 18 th at the WAC Championship.
Outdoors – ran in 5 meets outdoors, starting the year off with a 4 th place finish in the ACU Wes Kittley Invitational 400. She ran the anchor leg of the 4x800 relay that finished 7 th at the Texas Relays – with 2 other freshmen on the relay (Jalyn Childers and Gracee Whiteaker). She also place 6 th in the TTU Masked Rider Invitational 400, in a season best time of 56.26 and 5 th in the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco with a season best outdoor time of 2:12.42. She completed her first collegiate outdoor season by making the finals in the 400 at the WAC Championship in Arlington, finishing in 8 th place, and running the 2 nd leg on the 5 th place 4x400 relay.
Before ACU
Emma had an illustrious T&F career at Rockwall HS, highlighted by two trips to the state track meet in Austin. As a HS freshman, she made her first trip to the state meet as she ran on the 5 th place 4x400 relay, while narrowly missing the state meet as an individual when she placed 4th in the Region II-6A meet in the 800. She received the Rockwall HS Trustee Award that year. In her sophomore year, she again ran at the regional meet in the 800 (9th place) and on the 4x400 relay (12th place). During her junior year of HS, Emma would go to the 6A state meet in the 400 where she placed 8th, in her first trip to state in an individual event. That year, the Rockwall HS 4x400 relay came close to qualifying as they placed 5th at the Region II-6A meet. She topped off an outstanding HS career by winning the District 10-6A 400, while also placing 2nd in the 800 to her Rockwall HS and now ACU teammate, Charley Hamilton. At the Region II-6A meet that year, she would make the finals in the 400 (6th place) and the 4x400 relay (8 th place). During her senior year she also placed 7th in the 800 at the prestigious Texas Distance Festival.
Personal
Emma graduated from Rockwall HS in 2024. Her parents are Tony and Lisa Santoro and she has two brothers, Noah and Ethan. At ACU, she is a Health and Sciences major. In Abilene, she is an active volunteer at the Beltway Church and at home in Rockwall she is an active volunteer at Lakepointe Church, where she works with young children in the Kids Ministry.
Why did you choose ACU? Because of how supportive and welcoming the people are. I love how small it is, because it is easier to find community and to get to know more people.
What is your favorite thing about ACU? The people! I love my team, my coaches, my classmates, and my professors.
