ACU Completes Track Season with Jenkins' Triple Jump

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Abilene Christian's 2026 track and field season finished with the Wildcats' final event at the NCAA West First Round meet at the University of Arkansas' John McDonnell Field on Friday night.
Freshman Arthur Jenkins came in a solid 29th place among the field of 48 triple jumpers. His best jump of 15.21m (49 ft., 11 in.) was good enough to finish in front of athletes from Arizona State, Oklahoma, Cal, Texas A&M, Houston and UCLA.
Entering his third and final attempt, Jenkins improved his distance by nearly a full foot.
Jenkins, who won silver at the conference meet in early mid-May, led all WAC jumpers on Friday, taking down two jumpers from Tarleton State and one from UT Arlington.
ACU's track and field season concludes with several individual WAC champions, and five qualifiers for the NCAA regional meet.
