Biography

2023-24: Indoors – competed in 4 meets during the 2024 season. At the Charlie Thomas Invitational in
College Station, she would finish 2 nd in the HJ and 6 th in the 400 and she finished 3 rd in the Jarvis Scott
high jump at Texas Tech. At the WAC Championships held in Albuquerque, she finished 3 rd in the HJ,
made the finals in the 400, and anchored the Wildcats to winning the 4x400 relay. Outdoors – a very
busy outdoor season, competing in 8 meets overall. Ja’Dasia got her season off on the right foot with a
2 nd place finish in the 400 at the Wes Kittley Invitational at Elmer Gray Stadium. She placed 2 nd in the
Texas Relays “B” high jump, with brought her to WAC Female Field Event Athlete of the Week award.
She also finished 4 th at the prestigious Michael Johnson Invitational at Baylor University. Then, at the
WAC Championship meet (contested in Orem, UT) she placed 2 nd in the high jump, 7 th in the open 400,
and anchored the winning 4x400 relay in a time of 3:38.57, the best time for an ACU relay in several
years. She qualified for the NCAA First Round meet, getting 34 th in the high jump.

2022-2023: Indoors – competing in 4 indoor meets indoors, she had several highlights prior to
conference – placing 6 th  in the TTU Red Raider Open 400, placing 4 th  in both the HJ and LJ at the Pittsburg
State Invitational HJ and LJ; and placing 4 th  in the HJ and 5 th  in the 200 (in a PR of 24.67) at the TTU Jarvis
Scott Open. At the WAC championship, she would place 2 nd  in the 400, 11 th  in the HJ, 17 th  in the LJ and
anchor the ACU 4x400 relay to a 5 th  place finish. Outdoors – competed in 8 meets outdoors for ACU with
many highlights along the way: winning the Wes Kittley Invitational HJ, winning the War Hawk Classic
400,  and at the Oliver Jackson Twilight getting 2 nd  in the HJ and 3 rd  in the 400. She would finish the year
at the WAC championship meet in Nacogdoches by finishing in 2 nd  in the HJ with a new PR of 5-8.5/1.74,
placing 5 th  in the 400 (after setting a new PR of 54.20 in the prelims), and running a fantastic anchor leg
on the 4x400 relay, moving ACU from 5 th  to 2 nd  in the final 150 meters of the race.

2021-2022: Indoors – she competed in 4 indoor meets for ACU, including the Charlie Thomas
Invitational in College Station where she finished 7 th  in the HJ. She had a terrific debut at her first
collegiate conference meet in the WAC championship, as she finished 3 rd  in the 400 and anchored the
3 rd  place 4x400 relay, along with placing 11 th  in the high jump. Outdoors – scored in her first outdoor
WAC championship by anchoring the 5 th  place 4x400 relay, but also placed 11 th  in the 400, 12 th  in the high
jump and 19 th  in the long jump. Earlier in the year, she won the Oliver Jackson Twilight 400, placed
6 th  place in the Wes Kittley Invitational HJ, 6 th  in the TTU Masked Rider 400, and 6 th  in the Carl Knight
Invitational LJ.

Before ACU: During her HS senior year in 2021, she won the Reg III-5A high jump, qualifying her for the
state meet, but she did not score. However, Ja’Dasia did run the 3 rd  leg of the 5A state champ 4x400
relay for Manvel HS. In 2021, she was ranked #32 in the U.S. among HS jumpers. In the summer of 2021,
she also placed 12 th  in the HJ at the AAU National Junior Olympics.

Personal: Ja’Dasia graduated from Manvel HS (in the Alvin ISD) in 2021. She is working toward her
Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, with graduation in May, 2025, with an interest in
medical research after graduation. She has volunteered at the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
