2024-2025: Cross Country – Jacob competed for ACU in 5 XC meets, including both meets during championship season. He finished in 56th place in the WAC Championship held in Orem, UT, and 135th in the South Central Region Championship meet in College Station. In both championship meets, Jacob was the 6th finisher for the Wildcats. 

2023-2024: Cross Country – competed in 5 meets for the Wildcats, highlighted by finishing 146th (#3 ACU finisher) at the prestigious Chile Pepper XC Festival in Fayetteville. He also finished 75th at the WAC Championships, where he was the #7 finisher for ACU. Indoors – competed in 3 meets for ACU, but did not compete in the WAC Championship. A highlight indoors was a 9th place finish in the Charlie Thomas Invitational 3K in College Station with a PR time of 8:49.81. Outdoors – ran in 3 meets for ACU, including a 5th place finish in the Corky/Crofoot Invitational at Texas Tech. He did not compete in the WAC Championship.

2022-2023: Cross Country - ran the Big Country XC Festival unattached planning to redshirt the season, but the redshirt was removed after that meet and Jacob competed in the remaining 5 meets for ACU. He finished 58th in the WAC Conference meet (#4 ACU finisher and the 10th best freshman finisher in the entire field) and completed the season by placing 125th in the South Central Region meet. Indoors – redshirted. Outdoors – redshirted the season, but competed in 4 meets unattached, including getting 2nd in the 1500 at the War Hawk Classic at McMurry and running a PR of 15:31.33 at the J Fred Duckett Invitational at Rice University.

Before ACU: Competing for Liberty Hill HS, Jacob placed 29th in the District 25-5A XC meet in fall, 2021. On the track, Jacob placed 5th in the District 25-5A 800 in spring, 2022. He was Academic All-State in both XC and T&F.

Personal: 2022 graduate of Liberty Hill HS. He is an Information Systems major scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2025 and also a member of the Honors College at ACU, plus a Dean’s List member each of his semesters at ACU. His parents are Shelby Russell and Reagan Russell.
