WACO – Two runner-up finishes in the steeplechase highlighted Abilene Christian's Saturday at Baylor's Michael Johnson Invitational.

Peyton Bornstein was second in the women's event in 11:13.08 and Gabe Embree finished runner-up in the men's steeplechase in 9:28.57.

ACU had seven other top-10 finishes on Saturday. Ja'Dasia Sims was fourth in the women's high jump at 1.63 meters. Ella Anttila placed seventh in the triple jump at 12.46 meters and Kaitlyn Callaway had a javelin throw of 41.93 meters for ninth place.

On the track for the women on Saturday, Shiean Walters took fourth in the 400 meters at 54.22 and Bella Evans placed seventh in the 800 in 2:14.84.

Christian Morales was sixth in the men's javelin at 57.78 meters and Cooper Goggans was fourth in the men's 800 at 1:53.14.

ACU also had six top-10 finishes on Friday.

Kevin Castruita was third in the men's 5000 meters at 14:24.00 and Garrison Shindler was fifth in the men's 1500 at 3:53.18.

The Cats had four other top-10 finishes, including a ninth-place finish by Katelyn Coldicott in the women's 5000 at 17:59.96.

Finishing 10th in their events were Riley Pyeatt in the women's 1500 (4:40.51), Athan Huelskamp in the men's discus (50.82 meters) and Sutton Welch in the men's hammer (56.35)

The Wildcats compete next weekend at Texas Tech's Corky Crofoot Showdown to wrap up the regular season.
