Top 10 ACU Marks Fall in Opener

NORMAN, Okla. – Abilene Christian shot out of the gates at its first full meet on Saturday with athletes getting six personal records and four adding a mark to the all-time ACU top 10 at the University of Oklahoma's JD Martin Invitational.
ACU had seven event wins.
Athan Huelskamp won the with throw with a toss of 64 feet, 4.5 inches – which is the new No. 2 mark at ACU.
Freshman Sean Cooksey finished second in the 60 meters with the school's No. 10 time at 6.87 seconds.
Canaan Fairley won the high jump with a personal record 6-6.75.
Garrison Shindler won the 3000 meters at 8:44.49 and JP Trook was second in the mile with a personal record 4:39.3
Fairley, Kenan Reil, Tyce Chaney and Matthew Mills won the men's 4x400 relay in 3:21.40.
Paige Boucher won the women's 60 meter hurdles in 8.88 seconds for the No. 7 time at ACU and freshman Hannalee Banks was third at 8.96, which is a new No. 9 time. Natalie Poe established a PR in the prelims at 9.28 and broke it in the finals at 9.15.
Bella Evans won the 3000 meters in 10:31.72 with Peyton Bornstein getting second with a PR of 10:48.09.
Ja'Dasia Sims won the high jump at 5-7.
ACU takes the rest of the month off from competition, resuming on Feb. 2 at Texas A&M.
