Lubbock, Texas - ACU Track and Field will head back to Lubbock to participate in the Texas Tech Open and Multis in the Sports Performance Center this weekend. Last week's Red Raider Invitational produced a large number of personal best (PB) for the Wildcats.
The field of schools attending represents many major T&F conferences: Big 12 (University of Arizona, University of Central Florida, and host school Texas Tech University); Big 10 (Ohio State); Mountain West (Boise State and San Jose State); Sun Belt (Arkansas State and Georgia State); Conference USA (Louisiana Tech); Southland (East Texas A&M, Houston Christian, Northwestern State, and UT-Rio Grande Valley).
ACU will be joined by Tarleton representing the WAC. In addition, there will be D-2 powerhouse West Texas A&M, plus Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern, and UT-Tyler from the Lone Star Conference. There will be several key races to watch for Wildcat fans this weekend. Defending WAC outdoor champion Cooper Goggans will run his first indoor 800 of the season.
Miguel Hall will be running the 60 hurdles again this week after his race last week moved him to #6 on the All-time ACU performance list. Andruw Villa will run the 3000 meter run the first time since he ran the #6 all-time best 3000 two weeks ago in the Corky Classic. WAC all-conference performer Ja'Dasia Sims will compete for the first time in the indoor season in both the 400 and the high jump.
