OREM, Utah – Abilene Christian heads into Saturday's final day of the WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship with successful events.
ACU women posted two program top 10 marks on the track.
Riley Pyeatt and
Jess Reyes advanced in the women's 800 meters. Pyeatt recorded the No. 7 time in school history at 2:09.27
Shiean Walters advanced with the top time in the women's 400 meters, along with
Ja'Dasia Sims. Walters' 53.96 ranks seventh on the all-time list for ACU.
Team scores were incomplete as of 10:30 p.m. Central on Friday.
ACU had scoring from two athletes in each of the multi events.
Canaan Fairley placed fourth and
Ethan Christian was eighth in the decathlon with 6844 and 6532 points, respectively.
Eliza Lemberga placed second with 5075 points in the heptathlon with
Natalie Poe in fourth at 4538.
The ACU men also scored in the men's shot put with
Athan Huelskamp getting third in the shot put at 56-1.5 and
Gabe Embree in seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase at 9:29.54.
The Wildcats also qualified for Saturday's finals in three events on the track.
