MEET INFORMATION
Entry Information – Entries will be submitted through Direct Athletics. Entry fee is $350 per team (14 athletes +), per gender. The fee for bringing less than a full team is $20 per athlete. Make checks payable to Abilene Christian University. You can also pay online through DirectAthletics. Unattached athletes will be charged $20 for entry.
Entry Deadline - The cut-off date for entries will be at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday March 18. Beyond this date, only scratches will be allowed. Scratches can be emailed to mor08a@acu.edu no later than Wednesday, 4:00 P.M.
Team check-in - Please check in at the track and field offices located north of the third turn of the track. Packets and heat sheets will be available.
Event Entry Limitations – Field Events will be limited to the Top 24 in the Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw, Javelin, Long Jump, and Triple Jump. The vertical jumps will not have entry limits.
Parking and Athlete Drop Off – We would like to have all buses park in the designated Powell Fitness Center parking lot located directly south of the football stadium and east of the track (see attached facility map). Overflow bus parking will be along Campus Court, which runs along the west side of Elmer Gray Stadium. The parking lot to the south of the track stadium will be designated for officials and spectator parking. The physical address of the stadium is 2117 Campus Court, Abilene, TX, 79699.
Restrooms and Concessions – There are restrooms located at the north end of the track in the Softball/Soccer office building and at the northeast corner of the track facility. Concessions are located on the east side of the softball/soccer building. Port-a-potties will be located on the east throwing field. Football stadium concourse will have restrooms for teams.
Weigh-in – The implement weigh-in station will be open at these times and dates:
Friday – 9:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. & 1:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.
Saturday – 8:00 A.M. – 9:30 A.M. & 10:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M.
Implement weigh-in must be done during these time frames and 1 hour prior to the start of the first genders respective throwing event. Implement weigh-in will be located on the east side of the track office building located directly north of the track. Implements will be impounded and delivered to the throwing venues.
Qualifying and Finals - All running events will be held as finals. Competitors will be pre-seeded by entry times and distances. We will take the top 9 collegiate competitors to the finals in the field events.
Athlete Check-In – All running events will need to check-in located on the plaza leading from the football field to the track at the clerk’s tent 30 minutes prior to the start of their race. All field event athletes will need to check-in at the competition site with the head official 30 minutes prior to the start of the field event.
Spikes – We are asking for your team to use ¼” spikes only except for High Jump and Javelin competitions.
Warm-Up – Athletes will use the turf football at Wildcat Stadium for all warmups. Grass field east of the track is off-limits. < warm-up area="" subject="" to=""> warm-up>
