Wildcats Fall In Top-10 Battle

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The 6th-ranked Wildcats saw their 11-game winning streak snapped at the hands of 3rd-ranked Lynn University, 8-1 to open the Las Vegas Invitational at the Darling Tennis Center on Tuesday.

ACU picked up their first and only win at No.2 singles when Jaclyn Walker knocked off Eleonora Iannozzi, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. With the exception of one match the Wildcats pushed the Knights to a third set in the remaing matches, however could not pull out the win.

Lynn took all three doubles as ACU pushed the Knights in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, but came up short. No. 2 doubles teammates Hannah Kelley and Cassie Carver pushed Magdalena Ekert and Isabell Raich before falling, 9-7.

The Wildcats get back to action tomorrow when they take on West Florida at the Las Vegas Invitational.
