Cats Compete in Final WAC Track Championship This Week

Abilene Christian will take part in the final Western Athletic Conference track and field championship beginning Thursday before the league segues to the United Athletic Conference this summer. The meet is being held at UT Arlington's Maverick Stadium for the second year in a row.
In the men's team race, the teams to watch are Utah Valley and Tarleton State, with host UTA, Southern Utah, and ACU battling to move into the top three. In the women's team race, Utah Valley, UTA, and Tarleton State are in a three-team battle for the championship, with ACU fighting for a top three spot as well.
ACU will be bringing a young squad to Arlington.
Competing for ACU on Thursday will be:
On Thursday, the Decathlon begins at 9:00 a.m., with heptathlon following with the 1st event at 9:15 a.m. Field events begin at 10 a.m. Running prelims begin at 5 p.m., with the 10K finals running at 7 p.m.
Portions of all three days of the meet will be streamed on ESPN+ with links below.
Thursday - beginning at 5 p.m.
Friday - 4 p.m.
Saturday - 4 p.m.

- Men's 200 (prelims) – Ethan Krause, Durrell Collins
- Men's 400 hurdles – Ryan McMeen, Miguel Hall
- Women's 10K – Hannah Kasper, Hadley Phillips
- Men's 10K – Kevin Castruita, Andruw Villa, Matthew Engle
