2025-2026
Indoors – opened the season by winning the TAMU McFerrin 12-Degree weight throw. Later in the season, finished 4th in the TAMU Charlie Thomas WT and 5th in the TTU Jarvis Scott WT. Finished the indoor season by winning the WT at the WAC Championship with a personal best throw of 68-8/20.93m, breaking the ACU school record held by Athan Huelskamp.
Outdoors – competed in 6 meets for the Wildcats, beginning the season by finishing 2nd in the hammer throw at the ACU Wes Kittley Invitational, followed by a 4th place finish in the HT at the Texas Relays. Rhet won the Baylor Michael Johnson Invitational HT, followed by a 2nd place finish at the TTU Corky Crofoot Invitational. Then, at the WAC Championship, he won the HT with a personal best throw of 212-3/64.70m, the 2nd best hammer throw in ACU history. In the summer following his 1st season at ACU, Rhet returned to Estonia and finished 4th in the Estonian Championship HT in July.
Before ACU: Rhet went to high school at Audentase Spordigumnaasium in Tallinn, Estonia where he was 4th in the Estonian U23 Indoor shot put. For the next 2 years, he competed for Garden City Community College in Garden City, KS. As a freshman at GCCC in 2024, at the Jayhawk Conference Championship, he finished 3rd in the WT and 7th in the SP, before notching his first JC All-America with a 5th place finish in the WT, as well as placing 9th in the SP at the JC Indoor Nationals. Outdoors as a freshman, he placed 8th in the HT for another All-American accolade. Rhet saw rapid improvement in his sophomore season at GCCC. Indoors, he won the Jayhawk Conference weight throw with a personal best distance of 67-4/20.52m, before winning the NJCAA Indoor WT championship. Outdoors, he won the Broncbuster Invitational HT with a new personal best of 198-7/60.54m and finished 3rd in the West Texas Relays in the discus with a new personal best throw of 152-5/46.47m. Rhet then won the Jayhawk Conference HT, plus placing 6th in the DT, before finishing 3rd in the JC National Championship HT. At the end of his collegiate career, he had garnered 4 All-America honors, a national championship in the WT, and 2-time Academic All-America awards. In the summer of 2025, he returned to Estonia to place 3rd in the Estonian U23 HT.
Personal: Rhet finished Audentase Spordigumnaasium in 2023, before attending Garden City CC for 2 years. His Mother is Janeka Punt. At ACU, he is majoring in Sport Management. His full name is Rhet Daniel Punt, which is how his name appears on international track and field databases.
