Biography

Before ACU 
Rhet went to high school at Audentase Spordigumnaasium in Tallinn, Estonia where he was 4 th in the Estonian U23 Indoor shot put. For the next 2 years, he competed for Garden City Community College in Garden City, KS. As a freshman at GCCC in 2024, at the Jayhawk Conference Championship, he finished 3rd in the WT and 7th in the SP, before notching his first JC All-America with a 5 th place finish in the WT, as well as placing 9 th in the SP at the JC Indoor Nationals. Outdoors as a freshman, he placed 8 th in the HT for another All-American accolade. Rhet saw rapid improvement in his sophomore season at GCCC. Indoors, he won the Jayhawk Conference weight throw with a personal best distance of 67-4/20.52m, before winning the NJCAA Indoor WT championship. Outdoors, he won the Broncbuster Invitational HT with a new personal best of 198-7/60.54m and finished 3 rd in the West Texas Relays in the discus with a new personal best throw of 152-5/46.47m. Rhet then won the Jayhawk Conference HT, plus placing 6 th in the DT, before finishing 3 rd in the JC National Championship HT. At the end of his collegiate career, he had garnered 4 All-America honors, a national championship in the WT, and 2-time Academic All-America awards. Last summer, he returned to Estonia to place 3 rd in the Estonian U23 HT.

Personal 
Rhet finished Audentase Spordigumnaasium in 2023, before attending Garden City CC for 2 years. His Mother is Janeka Punt. At ACU, he is majoring in Sport Management. His full name is Rhet Daniel Punt, which is how his name appears on international track and field databases.
