Wildcats Get Senior Day Win

ABILENE – Abilene Christian celebrated Senior Day with a 5-2 win over Stephen F. Austin on Sunday.
The Wildcats honored seniors Maryjoe Crisologo and Andrea Guerrero before the match and both contributed to the win in their last team competition at ACU.
Crisologo and Libby Blair pulled ACU even in doubles with a 6-4 win before Guerrero and Olivia Sears sealed the doubles point with a 7-5 victory.
Guerrero made quick work of her opponents at No. 5 singles and Sears put the Wildcats ahead 3-0 with a win on Court One.
Blair got the clincher with a three-set win on the sixth line and Maria Cascos gave ACU its fifth win of the day in a straight-set win at No. 4 singles.
"That's a good win today," said ACU Head Coach Bryan Rainwater. "The past two weeks have been really tough with some quick turnarounds. We left for Grand Canyon on Thursday. We flew back yesterday and had some tough stuff with our travel. I'm just so proud of them. They're all strong academically also and there was a lot of work off the court as well. I'm glad we're getting out of here with the win and looking forward to building more for the next week and getting ready for Tarleton on Saturday."
ACU plays the Texans at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Stephenville.
