ABILENE – Abilene Christian women's tennis lost both of its duals Saturday at Texas A&M's Mitchell Tennis Center in falling to 4-7 on the season. The Wildcats began their day with a tough 4-3 loss vs. UT Rio Grande Valley, and later were shutout by the 21st-ranked Aggies, 7-0.

ACU's three points vs. the Vaqueros were earned by its No. 1 and 3 doubles teams in addition to junior Sarah Adams and senior Jordan Henry. The Wildcats earned the doubles point thanks to a 6-2 win at the top line by Adams and Nini Memishishi over Dominique Ibarra and Marine Darzyan, and a No. 3 position 6-0 victory by Henry and freshman Allison Stewart over Sandra Putz and Katarina Sasaroga.

Adams won 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles position, while Henry's 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 victory at No. 4 was one of three 3-set battles between ACU and UTRGV. Unfortunately for ACU, Michelle Walker slipped past senior Autumn Bellow at No. 3, 6-0, 2-6, 7-6, and Nethmi Waduge came back from a set down to beat Stewart, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

The Wildcats return to action next weekend for the start of Southland Conference play with road matches at Southeastern La. (March 1) and McNeese (March 3).
