
Wildcats Capture First Road Win of the Season in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N. M. — ACU women's tennis (6-7) defeated the University of New Mexico (7-3) 4-2 on Saturday at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium. ACU secured the victory with singles wins at positions No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5.
The Lobos secured the doubles point with victories on two courts, but Maria Cascos / Masha Vrsalovic won their match 6-2.
In singles, New Mexico started strong as Angela Del Campo fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. However, the Wildcats fired back with a series of victories. Cascos delivered a crucial win, securing a 7-6(4), 6-3 victory over her opponent. Vrsalovic added another point for ACU with a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.
Correa continued the momentum for ACU with a straight-set victory at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 7-5. Klinteby further extended the lead by winning her match 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Elsa Luthar's match was left unfinished, with both players tied at 4-4 in the final set.

The Wildcats have a quick turnaround as they face New Mexico State University at 11 a.m. C.T. on Sunday.
The Aggies are 1-6 this season, with their one win coming against Northern Arizona 4-3 on Jan. 30.
