The ACU Invite kicked off on Friday at the Judi and Cecil Eager Tennis Pavilion with 11 women's teams in attendance.

The three-day event continues Saturday and Sunday in Abilene.
ACU freshman
Elsa Luthar was the lone Wildcat to win its opening-round singles match. Luthar dropped the first set to Texas State's Stoney Cooks, but stormed back to claim the second set, 6-1, and then won the tiebreaker 10-5. Luthar will play Tasnime Ahamout from UT Arlington in the Flight F semifinals on Saturday.
In doubles action, ACU's pairings of
Masha Vrsalovic and
Victoria Correa, and
Alice Klinteby and Luthar each dropped two matches.
