ARLINGTON - UTA is hosting the WAC T&F Championship at Maverick Stadium this Thursday-Saturday, May 15-17. Both the women's and men's Wildcat teams finished 5th in the WAC Indoor Championship. This year, on the men's side it appears that the battle for the team title will be between Utah Valley University and Grand Canyon, with the host school UTA playing the role as the spoiler. For the women Utah Valley appears to be big favorite to win the team title, with the battle for 2 nd including teams from Tarleton State, UTA, and Grand Canyon.
This will be the first WAC outdoor championship for the Wildcats under Coach Miles Smith. Coach Smith was hired late in the recruiting cycle last summer and there were relatively few signee additions. However, what appears to be a stellar recruiting class, added to several key returnees should find ACU in the running for a podium finish in the near future.
The three-day meet will begin at 10 A.M. on Thursday with the first event in the men's decathlon kicking things off. Here are the events scheduled for each day (only events that have Wildcats entered) and in parentheses behind the name are all Wildcats who are ranked in the top-12 in the event,
