ABILENE – Abilene Christian continues its Western Athletic Conference women's tennis season this week with a trip to Arizona and a home match.

The Wildcats (6-10 overall, 3-1 in the WAC) visit Grand Canyon on Friday and return home for a match against SFA on Sunday.
 
ACU Storylines
FIGHTERS:
After struggling through injuries for much of the spring, ACU has rebounded at the right time, winning four of its last five matches, including a 3-1 conference mark. The one loss was a 4-3 setback.
 
LAST MATCH: ACU comes off a 6-1 victory over Utah Tech with three three-set wins in singles. Olivia Sears, Masha Vrsalovic and Andrea Guerrero posted wins in both singles and doubles.
 
ROLLING: Andrea Guerrero has won her last five singles matches and now has a 10-5 record to lead the Wildcats in singles wins this spring.
 
ALIVE AT FIVE: Court five has been strong for ACU this season with a 10-5 record. Andrea Guerrero is 8-4 at the No. 5 slot and Libby Blair has a 2-0 record there.
 
FRESH: Freshman Libby Blair is 17-10 in all singles matches dating back to fall tournaments. She is tied for the team lead in singles victories this season with Andrea Guerrero.
 
MASHA ROLLING: Masha Vrsalovic is on a four-match win streak in singles and is 4-3 since moving up from No. 4 early last month. Her streak has brought ACU to 8-8 on Court 3.
 
DOUBLES UP: Olivia Sears and Andrea Guerrero have won four of their last five matches on Doubles Court 3. When they win, ACU has won the doubles point in conference matches.
 
HISTORY: ACU lost to Grand Canyon in last year's WAC Tournament, 4-0. GCU also won in Abilene last season, 6-1. SFA got a 4-3 win over the Cats in Nacogdoches last season.
 
Scouting GCU
  • Grand Canyon, ranked 56th by ITA, is 16-2 on the season and 4-0 in the WAC after a 6-1 win at SFA on Saturday.
  • GCU is on a seven-game winning streak and is 10-1 at home this season.
  • Natasha Puehse and Santa Strombacha have matching 14-1 records in singles this season. Puehse has played all of her matches on Court 1 and Strombacha on Court 2.
  • Puehse and Strombacha also are 14-3 as the No. 1 doubles team.
  • Puehse is ranked 102nd in singles.
 
Scouting SFA
  • The Jacks are 9-7 overall and 1-3 in the Western Athletic Conference after the loss to GCU.
  • SFA plays at Tarleton State on Friday before coming over to ACU.
  • The Jacks have a better record on the road (5-2) than at home (4-5).
  • Jemma Cave leads SFA with an 8-4 singles record this spring with all 12 matches on the third line.
  • Carolina Chiatti and Ksenia Mamontova are 7-4 in doubles this spring, including a 7-3 mark at No. 2.
