ABILENE – Abilene Christian women's tennis improved to 4-3 on the spring after trouncing each of its opponents Saturday between the indoor and outdoor courts of the Teague Special Events Center and Eager Tennis Center. ACU began its day with a 7-0 win over its neighbors from NCAA DIII Hardin-Simmons followed by a shutout victory over DII Southern Nazarene.
Sarah Eleanor Adams, Ansley Boarman, Jordan Henry, Erin Walker and Whitney Williams all went 2-0 in singles at their respective positions, dropping only one set through 12 matches. Newcomer Elizabeth Ryan went 1-0 at No. 6 as Southern Nazarene traveled with just five players.
The Wildcats were equally superior in doubles winning by an average score of 6-1. Winning two matches today were the tandems of Adams and Walker at No. 1, and Henry and Williams at No. 2. Boarman and Ryan won their lone match at No. 3 over HSU's Jenna and Hannah Smith, 6-2.
ACU's next match is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23 vs. its old Lone Star Conference rivals from Tarleton State.
