Wildcats keep win streak alive with 5-2 defeat of TJC

ABILENE, Texas – The ACU women's tennis team picked up its' fourth straight victory on Sunday afternoon, defeating Tyler Junior College 5-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Apaches took the top doubles flight, but the ACU tandem of Sylvia Viljoen and Allison Stewart pulled the 'Cats even with a 6-4 victory in the second flight.
- Andrea Guerrero and Maryjoe Crisologo clinched the doubles point for the Purple and White with a thrilling 7-6 win in the decisive third flight.
- Claire Fisher picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory on Court 6 to take a 2-0 lead, but TJC came away with a win in the top singles flight to get on the board.
- On Court 4, Guerrero dropped her first set 6-0 before storming back with 7-5, 6-1 victories in the following two sets.
- TJC kept the pressure on, earning a three-set win in the third flight to bring the score to 3-2.
- Ileana Mocciola picked up a three-set win of her own on Court 5 to clinch the afternoon for ACU, doing so with a 6-0, 5-7, 7-6 victory over Patricia Apisah.
- Allison Stewart wrapped up her unblemished week with another thrilling three-setter on Court 2 to give the Wildcats a 5-2 victory.
UP NEXT:
- The Purple and White head to Albuquerque for two matches this weekend, with the first coming on Saturday morning against Northern Arizona.
