Lynn Ends ACU Season Again

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – For the second straight season the No. 6 ACU women's tennis team fell to Lynn University, this time on Thursday, 5-1 in the NCAA Division II National Quarterfinals at Sanlando Park.

In a rematch from early March at the Las Vegas Invitational ACU was trying to get revenge on Lynn who knocked the Wildcats off, 8-1 to open the tournament. After splitting the first two doubles point No. 1 singles came down to the last hard earned point with the Knights taking a, 3-1 lead.

With all singles matches staying tight, Lynn was able to take two decisive points at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. Cassie Carver fell, 6-2, 6-2 to Isabell Raich in her singles match while Ioana Ivan knocked off Micah Hermsdorf, 6-3, 6-0.

The Knights final and game winning point came at No. 2 singles as Jaclyn Walker took Eleonora Iannozzi to the brink, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2. The win gave Lynn the final point and a spot in Friday's National Semifinal.

ACU ends their season at 23-8 closing out their 16th straight appearance at the National Tournament. It was also the 23rd all-time appearance in the NCAA tournament for the Wildcats ending their season for the second season to Lynn University.
