Klinteby Named WAC Singles Player of the Week

ACU senior Alice Klinteby earned the WAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week award, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Klintey went a perfect 2-0 in her singles matches at the No. 4 position, helping the Wildcats defeat UTSA and Stephen F. Austin last week.

Against the Roadrunners on Friday, the Swede earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory. She came back the following day and had the match-clinching singles point over the Lady Jacks. Klinteby breezed past her opponent in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.

Klinteby also went 1-1 at No. 1 doubles in the two team matches.

Since dropping singles matches to SMU and Texas Tech to begin the season, Klinteby has won three in-a-row without dropping a set.

ACU, which is 3-2 this spring, visits Wichita, Kan. for a pair of matches later this week. At 5 p.m. Friday ACU plays host Wichita State. The Wildcats take on Big 10 member Nebraska on Saturday at 1 p.m.
