Klinteby Wins Another WAC Weekly Award
2/24/2026 3:05:00 PM | Women's Tennis
For the second straight week, and the third time this season, an ACU player has won a weekly award from the WAC as the conference announced Alice Klinteby as the Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Klinteby, who previously won the same award on Feb. 3, went 2-0 at No. 4 singles with victories over North Texas and Sam Houston. In total, she has won four consecutive singles matches. Teammate Masha Vrsalovic was named the WAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week on Feb. 17.
Against the Mean Green on Feb. 20, Klinteby earned the Wildcats' lone victory with a hard fought 6-3, 7-5 won. The senior from Sweden then carded a 6-3, 6-4 win the next day versus Sam Houston as part of ACU's 4-1 team victory. Klinteby also teamed up with Jess Board for a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles to secure the doubles point.
The Wildcats (5-7) begin a six-match road swing with two matches in New Mexico. ACU plays the New Mexico Lobos in Albuquerque on Saturday at 11 a.m., then travels south to Las Cruces to take on New Mexico State on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Wildcats currently have just one scheduled home match remaining this spring -- a 2 p.m. start on April 1 against UT Arlington.
