Kamas, Honea Notch Top-10 Placements at Coach Mo Classic

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Maddi Kamas and Ryann Honea each landed within the top 10 as Abilene Christian women's golf placed eighth at the Coach Mo Classic at St. Johns Golf & Country Club on Tuesday. Kamas registered her best showing as a Wildcat in a tie for third place, while Honea drew for sixth in her third straight top-10 performance.
ACU closes out the regular season next week at Texas A&M's "Mo" Morial Invitational at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas from April 6-8.
Kamas and Honea each shot below par in the final round to close at 3-under 213 and 2-under 214, respectively. Honea tied for the most birdies in the field with 15. The Wildcats scored 28-over 892 with a 5-over 293 showing in the third round. They tied for the fifth-most birdies with 38 and shot within the top five on par-3 and par-5 holes.
Kamas notched her third top-10 outing of the season and shot at or below par on each hole in the third round to jump five spots. She tallied four birdies on Tuesday and tied for seventh with 11 total. Kamas paced ACU with just six bogeys and shot within the top 10 on par 3s and par 4s.
Honea logged her fifth top-10 effort of the season and the 18th of her career. She shot 2-under 70 in the final round with five birdies and shot within the top three on par 3s and par 5s. Honea, recently named a Team USA candidate for selection for the Arnold Palmer Cup, has finished outside the top 12 at just one event this season.
Kate Pickrell and Jiyu Han tied for 58th and 62nd place, respectively. Pickrell shot 5-over 77 on Tuesday to close at 16-over 232, and Han scored 6-over 78 to finish 17-over 233. Jasmine Do drew for 72nd at 19-over 235, shooting 6-over 78 to end the week.
