BRYAN, Texas - Abilene Christian women's golf wraps up the regular season at Texas A&M's "Mo" Morial Invitational at Traditions Club from Monday to Wednesday. The Wildcats placed third at last season's event as Ryann Honea finished in fourth.
With one round each day, the first two days of the tournament will begin with tee times, with ACU getting started at 9:20 a.m. Monday. Wednesday's final round will kick off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The Wildcats will travel with a lineup of Honea, Maddi Kamas, Kate Pickrell, Jiyu Han and Julia Vollmer. Kamas is on the heels of being named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Women's Golfer of the Week by the Western Athletic Conference following a tie for third place at the Coach Mo Classic last week in St. Augustine, Fla.
No. 98 ACU joins a loaded 15-team field featuring 10 programs ranked within the top 100 by Clippd, including No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 24 Baylor, No. 34 Kansas, No. 35 Missouri, No. 52 Tulsa, No. 53 Texas State, No. 69 Louisiana-Monroe, No. 84 UTSA and No. 96 Charlotte.
No. 102 Western Kentucky, No. 117 Lipscomb, No. 126 Sam Houston, No. 134 Northern Colorado and No. 210 Toledo round out the competition.
ACU wraps up its run of three tournaments in as many weeks with its final tuneup before the WAC Championship on April 20-22 at The Hills Golf Course at Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
Honea scored 6-over 222 at last season's "Mo" Morial Invitational to land in fourth and power the Wildcats' top-three placement. Vollmer and Han each finished within the top 25. Honea also competed at Traditions Club in 2024 at the NCAA Bryan Regional, her first of back-to-back regional appearances.
The Wildcats have claimed back-to-back WAC Women's Golfers of the Week after Honea received the honor with a runner-up performance at the PING ASU Invitational in Phoenix. Kamas shot a season-best 3-under 213 at the Coach Mo Classic, placing one stroke back of the individual champions in her best outing as a Wildcat.
Kamas recorded her third top-10 outing of the season and closed with a season-low 4-under 68 in the final round. She is in her first season at ACU following four years at Oklahoma City University, where she was an NAIA All-American and captured the Sooner Athletic Conference individual title each season.
Honea joined Kamas in the top 10 at St. Johns Golf & Country Club, tying for sixth at 2-under 214 in her third-straight top-10 performance. Honea tied for the most birdies in the field with 15 and shot within the top three on par-3 and par-5 holes. She notched her fifth top-10 showing of the season and the 18th of her career.
