The ACU men's tennis team begins its 2026 spring season with a road trip to two of the top three teams in the country: #2 Texas on Saturday, and then #3 TCU on Sunday.

Texas reached the NCAA Tournament semifinals last season where they lost to TCU. The Horned Frogs finished as the runner-ups to No. 1 Wake Forest.

The Wildcats and Longhorns have decided to play inside at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center due to high wind. ACU and TCU will also duel indoors at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. TCU has won 34 straight home matches – the NCAA's longest active streak.

This marks the fourth straight season the Wildcats and Frogs have played each other in the opening weekend with head coach Juan Nunez being good friends with TCU's David Roditi. Last season, ACU won the Western Athletic Conference Tournament for the second time in four years and faced off with TCU in round one of the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats are led by Baylor transfer Luis Jose Nakamine, and former Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Tomas Quesada. Four players return from the 2024-25 champion squad, including First Team All-WAC doubles partners Ethan Scribner and Alejandro Verdasco, and All-WAC Second Team player Merse Deli.
