ABILENE – Abilene Christian plays an important regular-season finale at 11 a.m. Sunday, hosting UT Rio Grande Valley.
The Wildcats are 9-11 overall and 1-2 in the Western Athletic Conference.

ACU Storylines
ON THE LINE: Abilene Christian is 1-2 in the WAC and UTRGV is winless. Seattle has one win and hosts Texas-Arlington on Sunday. ACU clinches a first-round bye in next week's WAC Tournament with a win on Sunday. A loss could put them into the play-in round on Thursday.
LAST MATCH: ACU lost consecutive WAC matches for the first time in its three years in the league, losing 5-2 at Grand Canyon. Daniel Morozov and Cesar Barranquero won at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, and Jose Maria Rastrojo and Merse Deli won at No. 3 doubles. Martin Delnido won at No. 6 singles in straight sets for the lone ACU singles win.
STREAK: ACU freshman Martin Delnido has won six consecutive matches and is 3-0 against the WAC.
FROSH FORCE: Freshmen Martin Delnido and Dennis Dutine lead the Wildcats with eight singles wins this spring and classmate Merse Deli is right behind them at seven. Deli also has a dozen doubles wins.
SENIOR SALUTE: ACU recognizes its seniors on Sunday. Dario Kmet, Mihaly Deli and Jose Maria Rastrojo are in their senior seasons.
HISTORY WITH UTRGV: The Wildcats are 4-1 in the series with the Vaqueros, including a 5-2 win in Edinburg last season. This is just the second time UTRGV has played men's tennis at ACU. The 2020 Wildcats won 7-0.
SCOUTING THE VAQUEROS: UTRGV is 10-13 overall and 0-3 in the WAC after a 5-2 loss at UT Arlington on Friday. Emilien Burnel is 12-9 at No. 1 singles, including a win on Friday over No. 88 Joan Torres Espinosa of UTA.
