Abilene Christian men's tennis players Luis Jose Nakamine and Jorge Aza each earned 2026 All-Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference accolades as voted by the conference's head coaches.
Nakamine, a sophomore transfer from Baylor, was named to the All-ASUN First Team as one of the top six players in the conference which features 11 teams. Nakamine compiled an 8-3 singles record this spring -- all at the No. 1 line -- including a three-set victory over Oklahoma's Oscar Lacides, who was ranked 57th in the NCAA. It was the highest ranked win by a Wildcat since 2016.
The Peruvian's only singles losses were against players from No. 2 Texas, No. 3 TCU and SMU. He also posted a 4-6 record in doubles action.
Aza was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team. He pieced together a 10-4 mark in singles, including seven straight victories entering the ASUN Men's Tennis Championship. Aza went undefeated against non-Power 4 opponents with wins over Wichita State, Lamar (twice), UTSA and Creighton. The Spaniard also went 6-5 in doubles with partners Merse Deli and Dennis Dutine.
ACU plays in the opening round of the ASUN Men's Tennis Championship in Fort Myers, Fla., on Tuesday at 4 p.m. CT against the Queens Royals. The Wildcats are seeded 7th in the field of ten teams.
