
ACU heads to New Orleans for a four-game series

NEW ORLEANS – ACU baseball hits the road to the Bayou this weekend for a four-game series with the New Orleans Privateers. The Wildcats (12-7, 4-4 SLC) are coming off a split in both of their Southland series so far, the latest at home against Nicholls. Friday's opener gets underway at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's doubleheader begins at 2 p.m., and Sunday's single game gets started at 1 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
ACU trails the series 8-7 all-time against UNO, and the Privateers have won three of the last four games. It's been a back-and-forth series, quite literally. ACU won the first four games from 2015-16. UNO then won four in a row from 2016-17 to respond. The Wildcats then won two straight, only for the Privateers to win two in a row. ACU then won one, and UNO answered with one of their own. UNO leads the series 5-4 in New Orleans.

ACU STORYLINES
- OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER: The Wildcat offense has been red-hot all season long. This is where they rank nationally in different offensive statistical categories: 11th - Hits (195), 11th - Doubles (42), 17th - Batting Average (.304), 18th - Runs (146), 24th - On-Base Percentage (.406), 27th - Walks (97), 30th - Runs/Game - 7.7
- LADUSAU'S WEEKEND: Freshman Miller Ladusau recorded 10 hits in the four-game split with Nicholls at The Crutch last weekend, and scored five runs as well. Ladusau hit .625 and slugged .831 as well.
- CEMENTING HIS SPOT: Tyler Morgan got the start in the final game against Nicholls, and tossed five scoreless innings. The junior is looking to ensure his spot as the Game 4 starter each weekend, after tallying five strikeouts and only allowing two hits in the start.
SCOUTING NEW ORLEANS (11-9, 6-2 SLC)
- The Privateers are off to a 6-2 start in league play, and are coming off four-game split with SFA last weekend in Nacogdoches, Texas.
- UNO is hitting .253 as a team, and are led by Kasten Furr's .344 average and Gaige Howard's 17 RBI.
- The Privateers have hung their hat on pitching with a team ERA of 3.80. The staff has tallied 171 strikeouts and has allowed a minuscule .247 batting average.
