ABILENE – The ACU men lost a heartbreaker to Northwest Missouri State Wednesday ending the Wildcats run of six straight match wins. The match got a late start at the Eager Tennis Center as rain and lighting forced the match to start indoors and was later moved outside after they delay and courts were dried.
The Wildcats had a chance to separate themselves in the region, but were able to only pick up one win in No. 3 doubles. The pair of Brett Procter and Eldad Campbell won their doubles match, 8-3, giving the Wildcats their lone match of the day.
Northwest Missouri swept singles action as they won the match 5-0. Singles action got through No. 3 singles as the Bearcats took home the win and did not finish the final matches because of travel and a late start due to weather.
ACU returns to action this weekend hosting East Central on Friday before traveling to Waco for a pair of matches with Division I opponents Baylor and Prairie View A&M.
