Wildcats Travel to Old Rivals Tarleton, UT Arlington

The ACU men's basketball team makes the familiar drive east on Interstate 20 to play old rivals Tarleton State on Thursday, and UT Arlington on Saturday in Western Athletic Conference action.

The Wildcats (9-6, 1-1) are coming off their seasons' best overall game with a 85-68 win over Utah Valley. ACU forced a season-high 22 turnovers, and also scored its most points against a Division I team in 2025-26. Before playing ACU, Utah Valley was on a seven-game winning streak and led the conference with a NET ranking of 53.

ACU shot a season-best 54% from the floor, and Bradyn Hubbard has his second double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Tarleton State (11-5, 2-1) started WAC play with wins over UT Arlington and California Baptist sandwiched around a home loss to Utah Valley.

The Texans are led by Dior Johnson, who on Monday was honored as the WAC Player of the Week for the third time this season. Johnson scored 36 points versus UVU, and then put up 34 against CBU.

Thursday's game will be the 86th all-time meeting between the Wildcats and Texans.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m. in Stephenville with coverage on ESPN+, and the ACU Sports Network with Grant Boone.



ACU then completes its trip with a game at UT Arlington's College Park Center Saturday at 2 p.m.

UTA (10-5, 2-1) took down Southern Utah in Cedar City, Utah, to close out its conference-opening week.

The Mavericks do not play Thursday before welcoming in the Wildcats.

ACU leads the all-time series with UTA, 23-11.

Saturday's game will also be streamed on ESPN+ and the ACU Sports Network.



The Wildcats are hosting a free meet-and-greet with fans and alumni in the Metroplex between the two games of their road trip.

On Friday, from 6-8 p.m., join the team for a special opportunity to meet our the head coach and select players.

All registered attendees will receive a complimentary ticket to the Wildcats' game against UT Arlington on Saturday.
