UAC Basketball Tournaments to be Hosted in Allen, Texas

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The inaugural United Athletic Conference Tournaments for men's and women's basketball will be hosted in Allen, Texas on March 10-14, 2027, the conference announced Thursday. Abilene Christian hoops will head to the DFW Metroplex to compete for the UAC title at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center.
The venue will serve as the championship site for the 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons.
It marks the first time the Wildcats' conference tournament has been held in Texas since 2021, when the Southland Conference Tournament was staged in Katy. From 2022-26, the Western Athletic Conference Tournament was in Las Vegas. ACU women's basketball reached the championship game in last season's WAC Tournament while the ACU men played for the WAC title in 2022.
Season tickets for men's and women's basketball are on sale now.
The Credit Union of Texas Event Center seats over 7,000 and hosts more than 100 events annually, including sporting events, concerts, graduations, conventions and ice shows. It is home to the ECHL's Allen Americans hockey team.

ACU welcomes six new conference opponents along with Tarleton State and UT Arlington in the UAC, a rebranding of the WAC. Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, North Alabama and West Georgia join from the Atlantic Sun, while Little Rock makes the move from the Ohio Valley.
Both squads will each play 16 games in conference action, with eight UAC matchups apiece at Moody Coliseum. The conference slate begins Jan. 6, 2027 for both teams.
The ACU men's team features a retooled lineup with 10 newcomers, including six with international experience. Starting 7-foot center Cade Hornecker and guard Yaniel Rivera are back for another season in the Purple and White. The Wildcats reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 WAC Tournament and ranked top three in the NCAA in both turnovers forced per game and steals per game.
ACU women's hoops is coming off its second consecutive WNIT Super 16 appearance in 2025-26. The Wildcats went 24-11 for their most wins since 2019-20 and advanced to the WAC title game with a 13-5 mark in conference play.
Fresh off an international tour to Greece and Rwanda, the Wildcats embark on Year 15 under head coach Julie Goodenough, anchored by a group of 10 returners that includes seven seniors. Reigning WAC Player of the Year Payton Hull leads the pack.
