The Abilene Christian men's basketball team earned its 13th straight victory over the Lamar Cardinals, winning 83-81 on Saturday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.
The win pushes ACU's record in home openers to 13-1 since moving up to NCAA Division I.
Isaac Dye's 18 points led the Wildcats (1-1) as the sophomore sank 4-of-5 shots from behind the arc. Evan Boisur had 17 points and dished out seven assists. Timeo Pons scored 15 while grabbing eight rebounds.
ACU led for nearly 35 minutes of game time, topping out its edge at 15 points with 1:51 left in the 1st half. The Wildcats shot 51% (30/59) for the game, including 44% (10/23) on 3-point attempts, and scored 21 points off 15 Lamar turnovers.
Saturday's contest was the first meeting between the longtime conference bunkmates since Feb. 2022. Though the series was tied 11-11 when both programs were Division II, ACU has dominated in the Division I era with a 13-3 record, including 13 straight wins, over the Cardinals.
