RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Abilene Christian senior Bradyn Hubbard climbed another rung on the program's Division I single-season scoring record during an 87-48 loss at California Baptist on Thursday night.

Hubbard's team-high 14 points gave him 470 for the 2025-26 season and pushed him to No. 3 on the list, surpassing Jaren Lewis' 2018-19 campaign. Hubbard needs just 17 points for the top spot, and 13 points for second. Jaylen Franklin holds the record with 486 points as a freshman during the 2015-16 season, and Ali Dibba's 2023-24 season is right behind with 482.

CBU played strong defense, limiting ACU to a season-low 19 points in the first half. The Wildcats' typically fierce defense was not well-suited against the Lancers who do a fantastic job of taking care of the basketball. ACU scored just ten 10 points off turnovers and recorded seven steals.

Freshman Isaac Dye came off the bench to chip in seven points, including going 2-for-5 on three-pointers.
Joseph Scott led ACU in rebounding for the seventh game this season.
Rich Smith made the 80th start of his college career, now including 49 in a Wildcat uniform.
Cbo Newton was featured in the starting lineup for the 11th consecutive game, the team's highest active streak.
Bradyn Hubbard is closing in on the record for most free throws made in a season. He has sunk 120 at the line, which is just seven shy of the Jaylen Franklin's record of 126.
Smith inched up to a tie for 8th place for most steals in a season with 56. Several players are bunched close together before the top three of Payten Ricks and Reggie Miller with 70, and Damien Daniels with 68.

WAC VEGAS

The loss to CBU, coupled with results around the WAC on Thursday, secures ACU as the No. 6 seed in the 2026 Air Force Reserve WAC Basketball Tournament. The Wildcats will play rival Tarleton State in the first round on Wednesday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+ and the ACU Sports Network.

UP NEXT

The program will celebrate its four seniors -- Joseph Venzant, Rich Smith, Bradyn Hubbard and Zy Wright -- as they play their final game at Moody Coliseum on Saturday. The Wildcats host UT Arlington at 6 p.m. The two schools have each won on their home court so far this season with UTA winning 82-72 on Jan. 10 in Arlington, and ACU taking a 67-63 victory on Feb. 12 in Abilene.
