LIVE SCORING
BRYAN, Texas - Following a pair of trips out of state, No. 95 Abilene Christian women's golf will remain in Texas for the "Mo" Morial Invitational, hosted by No. 20 Texas A&M at the par-72, 6,406-yard Traditions Club. Part of a 17-team field, the Wildcats will play a pair of rounds on Monday before the tournament's final round on Tuesday.
ACU joins a field featuring programs from across the Lone Star State, including No. 32 Baylor, No. 97 Sam Houston, Texas State, Houston Christian, UT Rio Grande Valley, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M. In just the program's second year of existence, the Wildcats are the state's 10th-ranked program, per Clippd.
Oral Roberts, Central Arkansas, Troy, Missouri State, Wichita State, Northern Colorado and Oklahoma City, NAIA's seventh-ranked team, round out the competition.
The Wildcats will travel with the same squad they brought to last week's PING/ASU Invitational in Ryann Honea, Sydney Williams, Julia Vollmer, Jiyu Han and Kate Pickrell. Honea, ranked No. 100 in the nation, returns to the same course where she competed in the NCAA Bryan Regional to cap off last season.
Honea qualified for the regional after winning the individual title at the Western Athletic Conference Championship and finished in 50th place at 13-over 229. She has led the Wildcats in all but one tournament this season, including tying for 27th place at 2-over 218 in Phoenix last week. Honea paced the squad with 10 birdies over three rounds.
Williams followed Honea in a tie for 45th place at 7-over 223, charging ACU with 35 pars and shooting 2-under on par 5 holes. She's tied to lead or come in second place for the Wildcats in each of the team's last three tournaments.
Vollmer tied for 55th place at the PING/ASU Invitational, tying Honea for ACU's fewest bogeys with 10 and shooting 1-under on par 5s. Han shot one stroke behind Vollmer at 11-over 227, tying for 60th.
Pickrell tied for 65th place in Phoenix at 15-over 231, but closed out the tournament on a high note by shooting an even-par 72 in the final round. It marked a nine-stroke improvement from her second round.
Monday and Tuesday's action will each begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, with four scores per round counting toward each team's total.
