ACU Opens Fourth Season in Indiana at Boilermaker Classic

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Abilene Christian women's golf opens the program's fourth season at the Boilermaker Classic at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on Monday and Tuesday. The Wildcats kick off one of the strongest schedules in the nation, competing in tournaments in five states and the Dominican Republic.
ACU will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start both days on the par-72, 6,299-yard Kampen-Cosler Course. The Wildcats make their debut in the United Athletic Conference after registering four top-three placements last year and placing second at the conference championship.
ACU will travel with a lineup of Alana Kutt, Kaylee Yuan, Julia Vollmer, Jiyu Han and Kate Pickrell. Kutt and Yuan will make their Wildcat debuts, with the freshman Yuan getting her first taste of collegiate action. Han and Pickrell begin their senior campaigns.
The Wildcats kick off their season at the Boilermaker Classic for the second year in a row. ACU joins a strong 16-team field featuring eight power conference programs in host Purdue, Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Rutgers.
Ball State, Georgia Southern, Kent State, Little Rock, Missouri State, North Florida and Western Kentucky round out the competition. The Wildcats placed eighth a year ago with Jasmine Do, Pickrell and Vollmer each gaining experience.
Han heads a crew of four returners for ACU after earning All-Western Athletic Conference Second Team honors last season. She registered a trio of top-25 performances. Fellow senior Pickrell returns with three top-25 efforts of her own in 2025, including a tie for fifth place at the WAC Championship.
Han and Pickrell captured the Texas Women's Four-Ball title together over the summer, with Pickrell adding her second consecutive Austin Women's Golf City Championship.
Do and Vollmer represent the Wildcats' junior class. Do placed within the top 30 at two events last season, while Vollmer logged two top-10 finishes and a trio of top-15 showings. She tied for third at The Lady Clerico and drew for ninth at the Red Raider Invitational.
ACU welcomed three newcomers, including a pair with collegiate championship experience in Kutt and Hoi Ki Lau. Kutt powered Daytona State College to its 12th NJCAA Division I national title last season and earned NJCAA DI First Team All-American honors. The redshirt sophomore finished the year as the No. 2 NJCAA DI women's golfer in the nation with a second-place effort at the national championship.
Lau touts a stacked trophy case following two years apiece at Florida International and Keiser University. The graduate student was the 2023-24 NAIA PING WGCA Player of the Year at Keiser after capturing the NAIA individual title and fueling the Seahawks to their fifth national championship. Lau was tabbed a two-time First Team WGCA All-American and First Team NAIA All-American.
The Hong Kong, China native was the Sun Conference individual champion both seasons and guided Keiser to a pair of conference titles. Lau was a Second Team All-Conference USA selection in her first season at Florida International in 2025.
Yuan joins the squad as a true freshman out of Joshua, Texas. She was the fifth-ranked golfer in Texas in the class of 2026, per AJGA rankings, and a top-120 golfer in the nation. Yuan captured the title at the Texas Junior Amateur in 2023 and tied for fourth place at the event in 2025.
