Kutt Earns Dottie Pepper Dream Big Award to Support Professional Dreams

ABILENE — Abilene Christian women's golf's Alana Kutt was recognized with the program's Dottie Pepper Dream Big Award, head coach Rob Bennett announced this week. The honor seeks to support ACU men's and women's golfers' professional ambitions by providing stipends for tournament costs, travel and other expenses.
A redshirt sophomore, Kutt joined the Wildcats this season on the heels of powering Daytona State College to a national title. She was ranked No. 2 NJCAA DI women's golfer in the nation, per Clippd, and was tabbed an NJCAA DI First Team All-American. Kutt placed second individually at the national championship.
"We are so excited to be able to name Alana as our recipient of the Dottie Pepper Dream Big Award for this year!" Bennett said. "Alana has the desire to pursue golf at the highest level and has displayed that over the past year.
"After leading her team at Daytona State to an NJCAA National Championship and finishing as the runner-up individually in May, Alana went on to tie for first at the Women's Southern Georgia Amateur and finish fourth at the BMW GAP Women's Championship over the summer against very strong fields. She has all of the characteristics that this award was created to reward and I am proud to present it to Alana for 2026!"
Established in 2025, the Dottie Pepper Dream Big Award is an endowed fund sponsored by ACU alum MK Rotenberry ('17), a researcher with CBS Sports. The accolade seeks to provide Wildcat golfers with greater opportunities and financial support for professional competition.
The award is named in honor of Dottie Pepper, who played on the LPGA Tour for 17 years and recorded 17 official victories, including two major championships at Nabisco Dinah Shore in 1992 and 1999. She was named the 1992 LPGA Player of the Year and is now the lead on-course reporter for CBS Sports' golf coverage.
The Wildcats kicked off the 2026-27 campaign at the Boilermaker Classic this week and return to action at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas on Sept. 22-23.
