Wildcats Finish the Michael Johnson Invitational at Baylor

WACO - The Michael Johnson Invitational presented a great challenge to ACU with a strong field of attending schools. The cool, windy and sometimes wet weather in Waco did not provide the best setting for outstanding performances, but there were several that stand out.

WOMEN

Redshirt freshman Sterling Glenn continues her outstanding season for ACU, as she placed 11 th in the shot put in a very strong field – her personal best (PB) throw of 46-6.75/14.19 moves her up to the #1 spot on the WAC performance list
Kailey Roskop finished 9 th in the hammer throw with a PB throw of 169-11/51.79, climbing to #4 on the WAC list.
The women's 800 was a good race for the 'Cats, as freshmen Emma Santoro and Jalyn Childers placed 5 th and 8 th in the race. Emma's time of 2:12.42 puts her #6 on the WAC list and Jalyn's time of 2:13.00 places her at #11.
Other highlights include: Peyton Bornstein placed 8 th in the steeplechase; freshman Hannah Kasper placed 8 th in her first-ever collegiate 5000 with a time of 18:11.78; and freshman Laya'Lapri Ratney ran a season-best (SB) time of 12.15 in the 100 placing her #16 in the WAC.

MEN

Andruw Villa, a freshman from Abilene HS, ran his first collegiate 5000 on the track placing 4 th with a time of 14:36.09.
Freshmen Vincent Luffey and Benjamin Castro both ran the 1500 for the first time collegiately, with Vincent finishing 5 th with a time of 3:53.50 and Benji placing 10th with a time of 3:57.83.
Other highlights were: freshman Mark Barajas placing 3 rd in the steeplechase; Ethan Krause running an outdoor PB of 21.39 in the 200; Zachary Martin (15:19.53) and freshman Carlos Cortez (15:21.75) both running their first 5000 of the season; and Sutton Welch placed 7 th in the hammer throw with a toss of 188-11/57.59.
