Wildcat Baseball Releases 2026 Schedule

ACU head baseball coach Rick McCarty has released the Wildcats' 2026 season schedule, which includes 28 home games, eight games against Power Four opponents, and five home-and-home nonconference sets with some of the top teams in Texas.

The Wildcats will play their first 21 games in the Lone Star State, including a season-opening four-game home series against St. Thomas (Minn.), which won the Summit League in 2025. ACU will also play home series with Oral Roberts, Rice, and Loyola Marymount.

The third week of the season sees the Cats head to the 2026 College Baseball Series at La Moderna Field in Cleburne. ACU will play Texas State twice, and Creighton once in the inaugural event. In 2025, the Wildcats played Oklahoma State in the same ballpark.

Sprinkled throughout the schedule are midweek home-and-home series with Dallas Baptist, Texas Tech, TCU, UIW, and Stephen F. Austin. Home games against those in-state programs are: March 4 vs. SFA, March 18 vs. UIW, April 7 vs. TCU, April 14 vs. Texas Tech, and April 28 vs. Dallas Baptist.

"I can't believe we are 64 days away from kicking off the 2026 season," said McCarty. "We have had a great fall in the classroom, community, and on the field. As always, our schedule was built to be very challenging. As our program continues to grow, the schedule is growing with us. It will be the most challenging slate of games we've played during my tenure. Our average non-conference opponent RPI is 122, reflecting our commitment to pushing this program forward and preparing our players for championship-level baseball."

During WAC play, the Wildcats host California Baptist, UT Arlington and Utah Valley, and will travel to Tarleton State, Sacramento State, and Utah Tech. For the second year in-a-row, the bye weekend during conference play will be spent taking on Big 10 member Indiana, this time in Bloomington, Ind.

"Our guys know we will have to play well to win each night out, which is exactly what they want. We are looking forward to playing a full season in our new stadium. I love the fact that we get to show off Bullock Brothers Ballpark in four of the first five weekends. There are multiple programs that we are playing in Abilene this spring that have played in Omaha, which is what we are trying to build towards here each day. I can't wait to get going!"

ACU, which won a share of the WAC regular season championship in 2025, has won 82% of its home series during McCarty's seven seasons as the Wildcats' head coach.

Fans wishing to renew their season tickets can do so beginning the week of Dec. 15. New season tickets will go on sale Jan. 5, 2026.
