ACU Advances to Three Championship Matches in Beaumont

BEAUMONT - Members of the ACU men's tennis team will be represented in three championship matches thanks to a strong showing on Saturday at the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational, hosted by Lamar.

The Wildcats will have the opportunity to win two singles flights, and are guaranteed to win a doubles flight because the championship match pits two pairs of ACU players against each other.

In singles competition, Luis Jose Nakamine won two matches on Saturday and will play in the championship of his flight on Sunday at 10 a.m. Teammate Tomas Quesdad also won two matches on the day and will play in the third-place match.

In Flight 2, Merse Deli earned two victories to advance to the title match.

On the doubles side, the duo of Quesada / Nakamine squares off against Deli / Verdasco for the championship. All double matches are scheduled to begin Sunday at 9 a.m.
