First-Year Cats Ready for First WAC Tourney

ABILENE – The first-year Abilene Christian women's golf team heads to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament in Arizona in search of its fifth first-place finish of the season.

Delaney Martin, Ryann Honea, Sydney Williams, Kate Pickrell and Jiyu Han make up the scoring group entered for ACU's first postseason tournament. Manon Guille makes the trip as a substitute.
Coach Rob Bennett's squad started the season with a win at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational in Michigan and lost a playoff after finishing tied for first at the French Broad Collegiate in October.
The Wildcats won the HCU Huskies Intercollegiate in March and finished the regular season with a victory at the ORU Spring Invitational.
Martin comes into the tournament with a 73.8 stroke average and Honea is at 74.4. Han averages 75.7, Williams takes 75.8 and Pickrell averages 76.9. Guille averages 75.9.
Grand Canyon statistically is favored, averaging 293.4 strokes per round. Seattle averages 297.0 and ACU averages 297.3 per round, followed by California Baptist at 298.9.
UT Arlington averages 305.3, followed by Utah Valley at 305.7, Tarleton State at 306.6, Utah Tech at 308.1, Southern Utah at 308.8, Stephen F. Austin at 315.2 and UT Rio Grande Valley at 315.4
