Honea Closes Out Decorated ACU Career in Tie for 15th Place at NCAA Waco Regional

WACO, Texas - Abilene Christian women's golf's Ryann Honea wrapped up the NCAA Waco Regional in a tie for 15th place at 1-over 211 at Ridgewood Country Club on Wednesday. Honea jumped three spots in the final round at an even-par 70 to register her best performance in three appearances at an NCAA Regional.
The tournament closes out an illustrious collegiate career for Honea as one of the most decorated golfers in the Western Athletic Conference. She is a three-time All-WAC First Team honoree and was named the WAC Co-Golfer of the Year in 2025. Honea has received an individual bid to the past three NCAA Tournaments.
Ranked 106th in the nation by Clippd, Honea has landed outside the top 15 at just one of 11 tournaments this season. She has totaled 16 top-five outings and 20 top-10 placements as a Wildcat.
Honea collected three birdies in the final round and closed with 1-under 34 on the back nine. She tied for eighth on par 3s at 1-under and drew for ninth on par 5s at 2-under. Honea's nine birdies tied for 12th.
SMU secured a six-stroke victory at 17-under 823, followed by Texas A&M, Baylor, LSU and Tennessee in punching their tickets to the NCAA Championships. TCU's Kirstin Angosta advanced to the national championships as the top individual not on an advancing team at 6-under 204. The Aggies' Vanessa Borovilos topped the individual leaderboard at 10-under 200.
