ABILENE – Seattle scored four times in the top of the seventh to end what had been a great defensive duel with a 5-1 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday.
Â
Bubba Rote allowed a first-inning run but shut out the Redhawks over the next four innings and didn't figure in the decision.
Â
The Wildcats tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when Kaydee Bennett tripled to right field and scored on an errant throw on the play.
Â
ACU was held to four hits: two by Bennett and one each by Olivia Marble and Sammie Shelander.
Â
Riley White took the loss in relief.
Â
ACU hits the road on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Tarleton State before returning home next weekend for a three-game series against Utah Valley.
