LUBBOCK, Texas – In one of the longest stoppages between pitches in ACU history, it was Texas Tech who came out on top of both games in a unique doubleheader at Rip Griffin Park on Tuesday night. The Wildcats (29-19) led 6-0 when the lightning struck in the bottom of the fourth inning on April 25 in Abilene, and after the restart in Lubbock on Tuesday, eventually built up a 9-0 advantage at the end of sixth inning. However, the Red Raiders scored 15 runs in the seventh and eighth innings combined to eventually win 15-11, and then dominated game two, 13-3, in seven innings to complete the sweep in 12 innings of play.

Logan Britt tallied a three-hit opening game, while Tanner Tweedt, Miller Ladusau, and Holden Rook all had two hits. Rook led ACU with three runs driven in, which all came on his bases-clearing double to make it 6-0. Immediately after his at-bat, the lightning struck and suspended the game on April 25.

Britt, Ladusau, and Maddox Miesse all drove in two runs in the game.

Ladusau doubled home a run in the home fifth inning and Britt singled through the right side to drive in a pair and the lead was 9-0 heading to the seventh. Everything changed after that.

Max Huffling, who threw the first four innings in Abilene, started again in Lubbock, and after a scoreless fifth and sixth inning, could not make it out of the seventh and allowed four runs. Tech scored eight runs on six hits in the inning and sent 14 to the plate. They followed it with a seven-run, four-hit eighth inning that brought 10 more to the plate to make it a 15-9 game. ACU scored two in the home ninth to bring the final score to 15-11.

It was all Texas Tech in game two, scoring three runs in each of the first two innings to go up 6-0. ACU scored three in the top of the third inning on a Garrett Williams fielder's choice, a Ladusau double, and a Miesse single. Tech responded with one in the home third, three in the home fifth, and three in the home seventh to enforce the run-rule. The Red Raiders topped ACU 13-3 in the game, and scored 28 runs in 12 innings in total on Tuesday.

ACU returns to Crutcher Scott Field this weekend for a three-game WAC series against Tarleton. Friday night gets underway at 6:05 p.m., while Saturday begins at 3:05 p.m. for Senior Day. The Mother's Day series finale gets underway at 1:05 p.m.

Texas Tech improves to 34-16.
