BELLEVUE, Wash. – Seniors
Tanner Tweedt and
Grayson Tatrow each hit home runs in ACU's 9-3 loss at Seattle U on Thursday night. The Wildcats (32-21, 15-13 WAC) led 1-0 and 2-1 but the Redhawks (20-29, 16-12 WAC) tied it up in the fifth and scored five in the sixth and seventh innings combined to pull away for the win. ACU's three-game winning streak comes to an end and the team will now shift towards evening up the series on Friday with game two at 4 p.m. CT.
WAC Standings Implication
- The Wildcats now drop to 15-13 in league play, a game behind Seattle U, and will await the results from around the league to determine which seed they sit in.
How It Happened

Garrett Williams got the scoring started by bouncing into a double play, allowing
Logan Britt to score. ACU led 1-0 in the first.
- Seattle U tied it up with a solo home run in the home first off Wildcat starter
Breck Eichelberger.
- Tweedt answered with a solo blast to left to go up 2-1 in the top of the second.
- The Redhawks would not answer again until the home fifth when a balk brought in a run. It was 2-2 going to the sixth.
- Seattle U took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth with a three-run inning, scoring on a two-run shot and an RBI-single. The home team led 5-2 and added two more in the seventh with a single.
- Tatrow launched a solo homer in the top of the eighth to cut it to 7-3, but Seattle U scored two more in the bottom half to win it, 9-3.
Stat Pack
- Britt and Tatrow led the way with two hits apiece, and Tatrow reached base three times to lead the offense.
- Tatrow's homer was his 23rd of the season, while Tweedt's blast was his 10th of the year.
- Eichelberger went 4.2 innings in the start and was tabbed with a no-decision. The right-hander allowed two runs on five hits with five strikeouts.

Blake Anderson took the loss (5-5) in 2.1 innings, allowing five runs on five hits with three walks.
