ABILENE – Abilene Christian will mix it up with some of the best track programs in the country at the Texas Relays, beginning Thursday in Austin.
The ACU women send 12 athletes to the meet to compete in nine events.
Ella Anttila makes her outdoor triple jump debut after qualifying for indoor nationals with a school record. Also in the field events for ACU are
Zoe Burleson in the discus and
Payton Kirk in the long jump.
Kirk also will be on the track with
Paige Boucher in the 100 hurdles and with
D'anna Smith,
Hannah Foster,
Savannah Walker and
Ja'Kaylon Sabbath in the 4x100 relay. Foster and Walker also are in the 100 meters while Smith and Sabbath join
Courtney Latham and
Riley Pyeatt in the 4x400.
Latham and
Julia Perry are entered in the 400 hurdles and
Irene Rono runs in the 5000.
Seven men are entered in seven events.
Jamal January runs in the 110 hurdles and the 400 hurdles and joins
Addison Franklin,
Jack Marshall,
Jared Williams and
Jeremy King in the 4x100 relay. King also is in the 110 hurdles.
Franklin and Marshall also are in the 100 meters and the 4x200 relay with Williams and
Matthew Mills.
Cooper Goggans joins that mix for the sprint medley relay.
Nathaniel Collier is entered in the discus.
