Biography

2023-2024: Indoors – competed in 3 meets indoors. Finished the indoor season at the WAC
Championship meet, placing 27 th in both the 60 and 200. Outdoors – ran in 6 meets outdoors including
placing 9 th in the 100 and 11 th in the 200 at the Joe Gillespie Invitational in Stephenville. Placed 16 th in the
Corky Crofoot Open 400 at Texas Tech, with a PR time of 57.03, which prompted Ja’Kaylon to be added
to the 4x400 relay for the conference meet. At the WAC meet, she placed 21 st in the 400, then ran the 3 rd
leg on the winning 4x400 relay for the Wildcats.

2022-2023: Indoors – competed in 4 indoor meets, including placing 11 th  in the Pittsburg State
Invitational, as well as getting 28 th  in the 200 at the WAC Championship, plus scoring at the meet by
running the 2 nd  leg on the 5 th  place 4x400 relay. Outdoors – ran in 6 outdoor meets for ACU, finishing
3 rd  in the 400 at the War Hawk Classic and 11 th  in the Oliver Jackson 200. At the WAC Championship, she
placed 19 th  in the 400, as well as running on the 8 th  place 4x100 relay and running the 2 nd  leg on the
2 nd  place 4x400 relay.  

2021-2022: Indoors – placed 22 nd  in the 200 and 23 rd  in the 60 in the WAC championship in her first
season running indoors. Outdoors – placed 19 th  in the 200 and 23 rd  in the 100 in the WAC championship
in Seattle. She also ran a PR time of 12.18 in the 100 at the Michael Johnson Inv.

Before ACU: She anchored the Dallas Carter relay that finished as the runner-up in the 4A state meet in
2021. Also won the District 12-4A 400 and finished 10 th  in the Region II-4A in that same race. In 2019 as a
freshman, she ran on the state champion 4x100 relay for Dallas Carter.

Personal: Ja’Kaylon graduated from Dallas Carter HS in 2021 where she was on the Honor Roll all 4 years
of high school. This past July, Ja’Kaylon married Jayleen Record, who after playing football for SMU for 2
years, is now one of the leading receivers for Weber State University in Ogden, UT. At ACU, she is a
Psychology major and will graduate from ACU in May, 2025. She served as a Summer Camp Counselor at
Kidventure this past summer and is a mentor in the First Generation Program. Her parents are Jerrod
Sabbath and Brandi Robertson. Ja’Kaylon also has 2 brothers, JaBraylon and JaCorrian.
